A beautifully elegant 1960s Eberhard & Co. Automatic, showcasing the understated refinement that made Eberhard one of Switzerland's most respected independent manufacturers. Housed in a warm 36mm 18ct yellow gold case with graceful chamfered lugs, it strikes a perfect balance between vintage sophistication and everyday wearability. The richly patinated dial has developed a wonderful caramel hue over the decades, complemented by faceted hour markers and sharp Dauphine hands that capture the charm of mid-century watchmaking. Description

Here, we have a 1960s Eberhard & Co. Automatic with a 36mm 18ct Yellow Gold round case that sits perfectly on your wrist, thanks to its elegant chamfered lugs. Its refined flanks lead to a 42.5mm lug-to-lug length and a 10mm case thickness, ensuring a comfortable fit. On the right side, there is a rare signed 'E' crown. The smooth bezel holds a crystal above an attractive patinated dial, bordering on a caramel tone. The outer minute track surrounds the applied faceted hour markers, and elegant Dauphine hands and a finely tapered second hand sit majestically on the dial. At 12 o’clock, we have the Eberhard & Co motif. On the reverse, a case back engraved with the watch details and hallmarks, inside an automatic Eberhard Cal. 11600 movement. The watch comes paired with an 18mm strap and its rare original Eberhard & Co box.

Points of Mention

This watch is sold with its rare original Eberhard & Co box. It comes paired with an 18mm leather strap and a pin buckle. The watch is from Circa. 1960s and is in worn vintage condition, but overall a lovely, honest example with a beautifully aged patina dial and a sharp case, as you can see. The watch comes with our 12-Months NON-Waterproof Warranty.

Personal Note

This is one of those watches that immediately draws you in with the dial. The warm caramel-toned patina that has developed over the decades is absolutely beautiful, giving the watch a depth and character that simply can't be replicated. Every mark and shift in colour tells part of its story, and it's the sort of dial that really rewards a closer look. What also stands out to me is just how much watch you're getting here for the money. A 36mm 18ct gold automatic from a respected Swiss manufacturer, complete with a wonderfully aged dial and even its original box, feels remarkably good value in today's market. Similar pieces from more widely recognised names often command significantly higher prices, yet this offers every bit as much charm and wrist presence. I would not think twice about adding this vintage gem to your collection today!

About Eberhard

Eberhard & Co. is a historic independent watchmaker renowned for its chronographs and pioneering technological innovations, founded in 1887 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. The brand has consistently balanced tradition with high-performance mechanics, producing everything from military timepieces to modern world-firsts. In 1919, Eberhard & Co. unveiled one of the world's first wristwatch chronographs and became an official supplier to the Royal Italian Navy. By 1935, they launched a groundbreaking double-pusher chronograph that enabled stop-and-start functions without requiring a reset. In 1940, the company introduced the Extra-fort line, which featured an iconic sliding push-button. This watch became highly popular among military officers and professionals. Eberhard & Co. entered the diving watch market in 1959 with the release of the Scafograf, a highly respected professional diver's watch. In 1992, the company faced a significant turning point following the tragic deaths of the Eberhard family. Ownership and management were taken over by the Monti family, who continue to lead its manufacturing today. In 2001, Eberhard & Co. introduced the revolutionary Chrono 4, a world-first in watchmaking that features four sub-dials aligned horizontally across the watch face.
