Here we have a 1950s Zodiac Sea Wolf Automatic 35mm on Bracelet 702-916, a historic example of one of the world's very first purpose-built commercial dive watches offered to the public. Released at the 1953 Basel Fair alongside the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms. Featuring a 35mm brushed and polished stainless steel case that curves over your wrist with sharply tapered flat-ended lugs. The sleek, vintage flanks lead to a lug-to-lug length of 43mm and a case thickness of 11.5mm, giving the watch a charmingly classic and wearable wrist presence. On the right side, a signed crown. A bidirectional rotating plated bezel features engraved 15-minute countdown markings alongside a signature triangle at the 12 o'clock position. Its domed acrylic crystal sits proudly above the bezel, adding incredible vintage warmth to the dial. The matte black dial features an outer minute track surrounding applied steel hour markers, most notably highlighted by the iconic, highly sought-after triangular filled indices at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions. The signature large steel dauphine hour hand and prominent arrow-tipped minute hand are complemented by a sweeping steel second hand; below 12 o'clock, the printed Zodiac motif and 'Sea Wolf' text anchor the layout, while 'Automatic' completes this pioneering dive watch face. On the reverse, a snap-on solid case back houses an automatic Zodiac Cal. 70-72 A movement, 21 jewels, a true workhorse of the era. It comes paired with its original Zodiac 18mm stainless steel sprung-link rivet bracelet secured by a signed folding clasp, which will fit up to a 7-inch wrist.
