The Watch

The brand’s origins date back to Geneva Switzerland in 1791, where Jean-François Bautte, a fine pocket watchmaker and goldsmith built workshops and created his first watches. It wasn’t until 1906 that the two companies became acquainted when Constant Girard-Gallet actually bought the Bautte company from Jacques Bautte and the modern Girard-Perregaux was formed.

The brand name was established in 1856 in the town of La Chaux-de-Fonds, thanks to the marriage of Constant Girard and Marie Perregaux.

This Girard-Perregaux has a slim profiled 31mm round  Dennison made stainless steel case with elegantly curved lugs. The 39mm lug to lug length ensures a comfortable fit as the case gently curves over your wrist. A fine slim bezel holds a domed crystal. On the white dial, an outer minute track with applied retro numerals and arrow point indexes mark the hours. Dauphine’s hands are complimented with a sub-seconds register at 6 o’clock, the pop of gold adds sophistication and style, its concentric circles and bold numerals finish the dial nicely. On the reverse a screw-down case back. Inside a Manually Wound Girard Perregaux Cal. 05 HU 639 (Modified Pesaux 190) 17 Jewels, 18,000 beats per hour. Fitted on a 16mm brown leather strap.

Personal Note

Ladies if you are reading this, treat yourself to this stunning watch and enjoy!
