The Watch
Here we have a stunning 35mm 1950s Fleuron 18ct Rose Gold Manual that curves over your wrist towards the attractive Bombe Lugs that sit majestically on the two-piece case; Grimm case makers of La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, made this distinctive case. A lug-to-lug length of 43mm and a case thickness of just 8.5mm ensures a comfortable fit on your wrist, on the right side is a Rose gold crown. The smooth bezel holds a domed acrylic crystal above the stunning textured gold-toned radiating sunburst patterned dial; an outer minute track is precisely executed with printed Arabic numerals, raised Rose gold-toned dagger indexes, and 12, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 numerals mark the hours. Elegant Rose gold-toned Dauphine's hands are complemented by a tapered sweeping second hand; at 12 o’clock, we have the Fleuron motif and 17 Jewels printed underneath, and at 6 o’clock, “Incabloc” completes this incredibly sophisticated dress watch. On the reverse, an 18ct Rose Gold snap-on case back, inside you find the stamped Swiss Gold Hallmarks with the head of Helvetia for 18ct Gold, a manually wound AS 1187, 17 jewels, beating at a leisurely 18,000 beats per hour. The watch comes paired with an 18mm suede strap.
Personal Note
I am always amazed by the watches and brands you come across that are no longer around and very little is known about them, just like this Fleuron which is mesmerising in the gold. Featuring the most beautiful 18ct gold 35mm case with elegant "bombe" lugs and an extravagant dial, all powered by a manually wound AS 1187. I would seriously consider this beautiful vintage watch if you are in the market for something a little different that won't break the bank and punches well above its price point!
The Brand
Fleuron was founded in Beaucourt, France, in 1896. In the mid-20th Century, it moved closer to the heart of the Swiss watch industry, taking advantage of the many manufacturers of cases and movements.
