Points of Mention

This watch is sold as watch only and therefore comes with no Omega box or Omega paperwork. The watch comes paired with an aftermarket brown suede strap. The watch is from Circa. 1947 and is in worn, vintage condition, but overall very good as you can see. The watch is all original and the dial has turned "Tropical". The watch comes with our 12-Months NON-Waterproof Warranty.

The Watch

Formerly known as the La Generale Watch Co. it was founded by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1848. In 1903, they renamed the company Omega until 1982 when they officially changed their name to Omega SA. They are part of the Swiss Swatch Group.

Our Omega 2622-1 date from 1947 a very similar design to the war 30T-2 models made just a few years before. The round case has a slim profile. A lug to lug length of 42mm and a 10mm thickness will ensure you of a comfortable fit to your wrist. A polished bezel holds a domed crystal. The stunning Tropical dial created by a reaction of the dial to a long term exposure to the sun's UV rays is an organic patina. They are making each watch dial unique and therefore, collectable. It usually means the watch has had a full life, and we can only imagine the stories these watches could tell us. Arabic numeral indices are coated in Radium. At 6 o’clock a sizable sub-seconds register. Elegant syringe hands have Radium infill. On the reverse a snap-on case back. Inside a Manually Wound Omega Cal. 265, 15 Jewels, 18,000 Beats per hour. The movement is highly regarded for its accuracy and reliability  Fitted on an 18mm suede strap.

Personal Note

When this watch was presented to me I knew I had to have it, we love vintage Omega here at KibbleWatches and we really don't make that a secret! This example with its tropical dial and perfectly aged lume is something special, the size of the case and profile on the wrist is fantastic too, this will make a collector out there incredibly happy!
