This watch is sold as "Watch Only" and, therefore, comes with no original box or paperwork. It is paired with a 17mm well-suited leather strap and pin buckle, the watch features fixed gold bars so it requires thin open-ended/ fold-over straps. The watch is from Circa the 1940s and is sold in vintage condition, but overall, it is in very fair condition for its age, as you can see. The watch comes with our 12-Months NON-Waterproof Warranty.

The Watch
Here we have an ornate 1940s Enamel 14ct Gold Hooded Lugs Anonymous Watch with its 25x35mm square 14ct Yellow Gold case. Extravagant ribbed hooded fixed bar lugs gently sit on your wrist with a comfortable lug-to-lug length of 35mm and a case thickness of just 7.5mm. On the right side, we have a coin-edged crown. Slender bevelled sides hold a domed crystal above a stunning, crisp white enamel anonymous dial. Roman numeral indices explode around an inner minute track, and elegant thermally blued sword hands are complemented by a square sub seconds at 6 o’clock, perfectly balancing this sophisticated dress watch. On the reverse a 14ct Yellow Gold snap-off case back complete with hallmarks, inside a manually wound AS 984, 7 jewels, beating at a leisurely 18,000 beats per hour. It is paired with a 17mm well-suited leather strap and pin buckle.
Personal Note
This is an absolutely excellent 14ct yellow gold 'Anonymous' watch with a striking and sharp square case with hooded lugs, and an original enamel dial which is unsigned and powered by a manually wound AS 984 which also has no brand markings. A truly anonymous and unbranded watch from the 1940s. There are a few theories as to what this could be, but I think the most compelling is the idea that this could be a display/presentation watch that was taken around and shown to retailers at the time as a potential watch for them to order and stamp with their own brand/retailer name. We have seen this countless times throughout the years where brands would buy watches from a manufacturer in Switzerland and have their retailer's name put on the dial, such as vintage 'H.Samuels' and others. Or maybe this was a one-off made for someone on their request, I guess we will never know. That is part of the allure of a watch like this to me personally, if that intrigues you too, add it to your collection today and enjoy this oddity!
The Brand
As this watch is 'Anonymous' and unbranded there is nothing to elaborate on here, unfortunately.
