Thomas Olsen purchased the Waterbury Clock Company founded in 1854. In 1941 they renamed the company Timex. Its headquarters can be found in Middlebury, Connecticut, USA. In 1933 we saw the Mickey Mouse watch’s introduction, which sold an incredible 2 million watches to children worldwide. In 1972 Timex released their first quartz watch, the Q-Timex. Another historic landmark for Timex in 1984 saw the introduction of the world's first sport's watch, the Ironman.
