Founded in 2002 by  Peter Speake-Marin, a British master watchmaker. He graduated from Hackney Technical College in London in 1985. He ran his operation from Bursins Switzerland later in 2019 moving to Geneva.

Inside their Creation Studio, they design movements, dials, and hands taking inspiration from modern art and their surroundings. In 2017 Peter left Speake-Marin to start a new project in watchmaking education online.

Today Speake-Marin SA is owned by the Rosnoblet family, who owns Provencia, a part of the Carrefour hypermarket chain found in the Rhône-Alpes region of France. Christelle Rosnoblet is the CEO of Speake-Marin SA and has been with the company since 2012.
