In 1895, Joseph Eastman started Eastman Clock Co. Ltd in Boston after a few years he moved to Chelsea. After receiving a bank loan his new factory was very slow in construction. Therefore the bank foreclosed on him seeing no financial returns on their investment not helped by shady dealings by Harry Bates, Bates quickly acquired the property and eventually sold the business to Charles Pearson who founded Chelsea clock Co.

In 2006 the “Eastman Watch & Clock Co., Ltd” was reregistered in 2006 by Ms Xie based in Dongguan, Guangdong, China.
