The Watch

Here we have a 2022 Habring2 Chrono-Felix Sport Manually Wound; its 38.5mm round stainless steel case has tapering curved drilled lugs, the polished and brushed surfaces capture the light perfectly as you rotate your wrist, and a lug-to-lug length of 46mm and a case thickness of 11.5mm ensures a comfortable fit. Between the bottom lugs, you find the engraved consecutive serial number this one is No.#82. On the right side, we have a single pusher at 2 o’clock with a crown double-sealed just below at 3 o’clock. A slim polished bezel holds the domed sapphire crystal with AR coating on both sides to help with reflections. The stunning “Sport” dial has an outer minute track surrounding a beige ring with Arabic”12” and “6” alongside baton indexes coated in thick Super-LumiNova marking the hours. In the centre, a black disc with a spiral Tachymetre KM/H in red intersected by silver registers at 3 o’clock, 30 minutes and at 9 o’clock, small seconds, each with blued hands. Elegant syringe hands filled with Super-LumiNova are complemented by a fine red tapered chronograph hand, completing this dynamic Bicompax. On the reverse is an exhibition case with a sapphire crystal. Inside an in-house Manually Wound Habring² A11C-H1, 25 jewels, 28,800 beats per hour. An antimagnetic escapement with a Carl Haas hairspring to Chronometer standards. KIF shock protection complies with DIN and NIHS standards. The movement has hand-applied perlage finishing and is mesmerising to watch its beating heart. The watch comes fitted on a Habring 20mm leather strap with a pin buckle and comes with its Habring presentation box and papers.

Personal Note

The dial of this Habring2 Chrono-Felix Sport is the star of the show and quite a departure from the usually simple yet beautifully elegant dials we expect from Habring2, they have managed to keep the design language but introduce this sporty, yet vintage design. The finishing on the movements of Habring2 is something to admire up close and with a loupe, so do not hesitate to book an appointment to see this beautiful watch in the metal yourself!

The Brand

Maria and Richard Habring founded Habring² in 1997 in Volkermarkt, Austria. Richard Habring's career started as a watchmaker at IWC under the mentorship of Günter Blümlein. He had a major role in the development of the double chronograph. With help from his wife, they are creating watches that continue the remarkable horology of Austria.
