This watch is sold with its original IWC special box and IWC paperwork. The watch comes paired with its original IWC leather strap with its original signed clasp. The watch is from September 2018 and is sold in virtually unworn condition, as you can see from the photos, any marks are from storage over the years. The watch comes with its original extended manufacturer warranty.

The Watch

Florentine Aristo Jones founded IWC in 1868. In 1867 he applied for a European passport with the ambition to create watches using the American system of Watchmaking. This system was derived from the Federal Armories at Springfield and Harpers Ferry. Where high precision interchangeable parts were needed for armaments. This was perfect to use in watchmaking and Florentine was a pioneer in introducing it to the Swiss. In 1868 Florentine and Charles Kidder ended up in  Schaffhausen Switzerland. Originally called the company  F.A Jones & Co which was later changed to IWC International Watch Company. Florentine returned to the USA in 1876 where he retired and sadly passed away in 1916. His spirit carries on today in the modern IWC watches.

Celebrating its Jubilee festivities IWC launched in 2018 this Pilot Chronograph known as the “FliegerChronograph“. The 43mm stainless steel case has polished and brushed surfaces that transition with crisp lines. The lugs majestically curve over your wrist. A lug to lug length of 53mm and a thickness of 15.5mm gives the watch impressive wrist presence. On the right side chronograph pushers and a screw-down signed crown. A convex sapphire crystal AR coated on both sides provides a clear window onto the striking white dial. The crystal is secured against displacement due to a drop in air pressure at extreme elevations. The white dial has 12 layers of translucent lacquer creating an effect reminiscent of the creamy white enamel dials of the early pocket watches. The outer minute track, baton, and Arabic numeral indices are expertly printed in black. At 3 o’clock a framed day/date. The chronograph registers are slightly recessed. At 12 o’clock a 30-minute register, at 6 o’clock a 12-hour register and finally at 9 o’clock the small second’s register. Elegant Alpha hands have a blue outline with SuperLumiNova coating, a blue chronograph seconds hand is finely tapered. On the reverse, a brushed case back with “150 Years” deeply engraved in the center, and the number out of 1000 pieces. Inside an Automatic IWC Cal. 79320, 25 Jewels, 28,800 Beats per hour. Based on the Valjoux 7750. It has hacking seconds for accurate setting. The movement is encased in a soft-iron inner case protecting it from magnetic fields. The watch comes on a 21mm black Alligator strap with a signed buckle. Comes with its IWC presentation box and papers.
