The Watch

Here, we have a rare classic 1980s Piaget Tank Tradition 18ct Yellow Gold Diamond Dial. A beautifully sculpted 20mm 18ct Yellow Gold Tank-shaped case sits comfortably on your wrist thanks to a lug-to-lug length of 24.5mm and a case thickness of just 4.5mm; its ultrathin profile is perfect in form and function. A push/pull crown with a coin edge is on the right side. The flat sapphire crystal sits above a stunning diamond dial in a paved pattern that reflects the light in a beautiful, mesmerising way. Two elegant dauphine hands sit centrally, creating a superbly balanced, flamboyant timepiece. Piaget motif sits at 12 o’clock. On the reverse, a screwed-down 18ct yellow gold case back, inside a manually wound Piaget Cal. 4P1, 19 jewels, beating at 21,600 beats per hour, one of the world's thinnest mechanical movements. The watch comes paired with a suitable 15mm leather strap secured by its original Hallmarked Piaget 18ct gold pin buckle.

Personal Note

It's not every day you get a beautiful diamond pave Piaget "Tank" through the door, this reference 4082 features a striking dial with pave diamonds throughout and an 18ct yellow gold case. Powered by a manually wound Piaget calibre 4P1, it is a work of art and a piece of jewellery for the wrist that just so happens to tell the time. This model at 20mm by 24.5mm is a bold size and I do feel that rocked with confidence anyone can wear this beautiful watch. Don't hesitate to book an appointment and see it for yourself!

The Brand

Piaget was founded in 1874 in the small Swiss village of La Côte-aux-Fées. Georges-Édouard Piaget had a passion for watches from a young age. He created movements from his workshop. When his son Timothée Piaget took over, the business saw a huge expansion, building a new manufacturing facility. In 1943, Piaget became a registered trademark. They created ultra-thin watches with their 9P Calibre, which was an incredible 2mm thick, and they still hold a world record. Today, Piaget is a subsidiary of the Swiss Richemont group. This group includes Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, IWC Schaffhausen, Panerai, Vacheron Constantin, Montblanc, Dunhill, and Chloé.
