This watch is sold as "Watch Only" and therefore comes with no original Tissot box or Tissot paperwork. The watch comes paired on an aftermarket handmade leather strap that suits the watch perfectly. The dial has developed an even patina throughout and is all original, as are the hands. The case is in its original condition and looks fantastic for the age and is nice and sharp. The movement does come with the KibbleWatches 12-Months NON-Waterproof Warranty.

The Watch

The Swiss luxury watch company Tissot from Le Locle, Switzerland, was established in 1853 by Charles Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Emile. Under Charles-Emile’s direction, they manufactured pocket watches with parts from Russia and the United States. In 1915, the company began producing wristwatches. Between 1920 and 1977, Tissot produced its own movements. 

This 1939 Tissot Antimagnetique has a 38mm stainless steel case. Its slim profile has leading lines ending at tapering lugs. The fixed bars were used with one-piece nylon straps to make it harder to lose the watch due to spring bar failure. Open-ended straps can also be fitted.  A 44mm lug to lug ensures a comfortable fit on the wrist. A stepped bezel holds a domed crystal. The dial is evenly patinated, an outer minute track, and Arabic numerals are finely printed in black. Elegant slim heat blued sword hands with a sub-seconds at 6 o’clock. On the reverse a screw-down case back. Inside a Manually Wound Tissot Cal. 27, 15 Jewels, 18,000 beats per hour. Fitted on a 20mm leather strap.
