The Watch
Here we have a classic 2020s Orient Bambino 2nd Generation Grey Automatic with a polished and brushed stainless steel case that curves over your wrist thanks to tapered lugs, and a lug-to-lug length of 46.5mm and a case thickness of 11.5mm ensuring a comfortable fit. On the right side is a signed crown, a slim smooth polished bezel that holds a domed mineral crystal above a striking sunburst grey dial. An outer minute track has applied steel batons at the cardinal points and printed markings in between marking the hours, at 3 o’clock a date window, and elegant steel baton hands are complemented by a sweeping second hand completing this classic dress watch. On the reverse a screw-down solid case back with the details of the watch around the edge and the Orient shield in the centre, inside an automatic Orient Cal. F67, this upgraded in-house movement has hand winding and hacking for your convenience. The watch comes paired with its original 21mm Orient signed leather strap and pin buckle and with its original Orient Box, swing tag and Paperwork.
Personal Note
It is incredibly hard to rival Orient for their quality/price ratio, and this Orient Bambino 2nd Generation Grey Automatic is the perfect example of that for not a huge amount more than £100! I would not hesitate to add this to your collection, it's a wonderful watch for the money and with a few strap changes you could find yourself wearing this an awful lot!
The Brand
Orient has been a Japanese watch manufacturer since 1951, when it was reborn by Tama Keiki Company in 1950, which then changed its name to Orient Watch Company Limited in 1951, becoming fully integrated into Seiko in 2017. Its long heritage of in-house movements sits perfectly within the Seiko family. The 3 Star or Tristar stands for Quality, Design, and Price.
