This watch is sold as "Watch Only" and therefore comes with no original box or paperwork. The watch comes paired with a perfectly matched NATO strap. The watch is from the Circa. 1940s and is in worn, vintage condition as you can see and features signs of wear and age as you would expect. The watch comes with our 12-Months NON-Waterproof Warranty.

The Watch

Eugene Blum and Alice Levy,  husband and wife, joined their initials together (Eugène Blum Et Lévy) to form the brand name Ebel in 1911. Based in La Chaux de Fonds the company was taken over by their son, Charles in 1932, where he began to concentrate the business branching out overseas before Blum’s grandson Pierre Alain took over. It was at this point, in 1932 that Ebel began creating wristwatches for Cartier. Later Ebel became part of the LVMH Group and then Movado Group by the end of 2003. 

Here we have a circa.1940s Ebel military watch.  Ebel was one of 15 manufacturers given the task to produce a “Specification” watch for the British Army. ATP stands for Army Time Piece found on wristwatches from 1939-1945. The requirement of a "specification" in the case of ATP would be 15 jewel non-shock absorbing 10 1/2 to 12 ligne movement with silver /white dial, double minute track. Luminous hands, the 12 markers luminous. Fitted in a screw back water-resistant case.

Its 32mm stainless steel case gently curves at the fixed lugs. The lug to lug length of 41mm and a thickness of 10mm ensures a comfortable fit. A stepped bezel holds a domed crystal. The even patina over the dial, suggests the watch has many stories to tell. A double minute track is clearly marked. Radium lume pips alongside  Arabic numerals marking the hours filled with Radium. At 6 o’clock a sub-seconds register. Elegant Cathedral hands luminous paint filled. On the reverse, a screw-down case back with ATP F 00602 engraved into it. Inside a Manually Wound Ebel Cal. 99 15 Jewels 18000 Beats per hour. Fitted on a 17mm NATO strap.

Personal Note

Such a fantastic example and I see these ATP's only increasing in popularity as the whole military watch genre continues growing. Clearly, someone else agrees as this sold before it even had a chance of reaching the website.
