This watch came to me easily 7/8 years ago in a trade with a Tissot Visodate, yes, you heard that right, a vintage 1975 Zenith Defy for a modern Tissot Visodate, times were certainly different back then. Unfortunately, I could not justify keeping it in my collection at the time and then sold it, not once, not twice, but three times and each time it found its way back to me from the people I sold it to when they wanted to move it into something else. On that third time, I decided that it would never be sold again, off it went for service and had one of the last crystals from Zenith they had in stock at the time, now featuring a few scratches from the years and regular daily wear from me. It also had a full case and bracelet refurb, sacrilege for a vintage watch collector, but wow, did it bring this case and bracelet back to life, and I am so glad I did it.
Whilst this watch rarely receives wrist time from me anymore, it is a watch that finds itself on my wrist easily for a week straight when it does come out and it reminds me how lucky I am to do what I do for a living, but also how damn difficult it was at times when selling a watch to make a few hundred pounds was required to keep things ticking along nicely!
