18ct Gold 1954/55 Zenith
Where to even begin with such a beautiful watch like this? Let's get the facts out of the way! This is an 18ct Gold Zenith from 1954/55 running a beautiful manual wound movement from Zenith! This watch was serviced in October 2016 and had it's mainspring replaced, therefore as you can expect it is running very well for a 63 year old watch! The dial is also immaculate and untouched, it being preserved in the condition it is in would suggest to me that this was purchased by someone who would only take it out for very special occasions, therefore rarely seen time on the wrist!
If I had to choose just one dress watch I truly think this would be it! Believe me I'm keeping the photos of this one on my phone for the future hunting, I'll want another one for me!

The Tissot Visodate range is commonly known for their dressy look in the modern line, but the Visodate harps all the way back to the 1950s and meant visible date. The Visodate range is available in dressy watches all the way to diver style watches like this. This watch features a lovely blue dial with a blue friction bezel, striking original hands and a pop of colour on the second hand. The watch still has it's original, and now very puffy, lume plots. Original Tissot crown is still on the watch too, this is as original as they come.
Points of Mention
This is a vintage watch from the 1970s and the watch has patina all over, the bezel has aged and faded into a lovely light blue. The dial has also patina'd to a beautiful tone of blue. The watch is currently running and has an unknown service history.
I have a soft spot for vintage diver style watches, especially ones with a pop of colour which this definitely provides. Tissot is a brand that still has a lot of room to grow in the vintage community and still has a lot of models I believe will increase in popularity, whilst they are still great prices I will be adding one to my collection in the near future.
In the 1960s Bulova was the first brand to bring a tuning fork powered quartz movement to the mass market with a slogan of "The watch that hums." This slogan was powerful as the watch truly became known for it's constant hum, this was due to the motor inside constantly working to provide a smooth sweep of the second hand. This model is paying homage to the original SpaceView by Bulova, but with a modern twist.
This watch will definitely spark conversation with both watch collectors but also everyone else, with the unique design and interesting dial it with have everyone wanting to take a closer look... Including yourself! Don't wear this watch to the office, you'll get no work done.
Points of Mention
This watch comes with it's original box and paper work, the watch purchased in April 2017 and has been worn very few times by the original owner. The watch is in overall great condition, inducing the strap.
I have always thought of Bulova as a great brand with a respectful history and continue to stay affordable, this I respect in an ever growing market of more and more expensive watches. This watch offers a unique design in both an open dial showing the quartz movement but also in the case shape, at a first look I wasn't a huge fan of this watch but once it was on my wrist I was pleasantly surprised by the wearing experience.
The time has come to say good bye to one of my personal watches and one I have probably owned and worn the most beyond my Tudor. It'll definitely be sad to see it go but I know for a fact whoever owns this beautiful watch will not be disappointed! It was freshly serviced this year and is running great, I decided not to have it polished so it definitely has signs of wear to the bracelet but due to the polish and brushed styling it wears them well and you really cannot tell unless you photograph in direct light like I did for the photos above!
Recently I've been getting a fair few of these unknown and obscure brands, I think they're super awesome and offer a great value proposition! Let's take a look at this "MAVIP"... And yes, I have no clue what the brand is or anything about it lol! That's part of the fun of these ;)
This watch has a lovely case shape which wears so well on the wrist and gives a far larger wrist presence than it's numbers suggest, being quite thin too it's lovely! The dial is a glossy metallic colour that has aged and gone a VERY slight pinkish hue in certain lights, it's super faint but wow! Large and bold indices filled with black contrast nicely against the long hands that are filled with white, all complimented with a sub seconds at 6o'clock! I think if you're a watch guy and want something that stands out and gets questions, then get this!
Everyone loves a Seiko 5! They are often most people's first ever automatic watch and continue to be a watch owned or purchased multiple times in various colours and styles over the years, myself included! This lovely reference 7S26-0480 features the very well executed honeycomb dial in white, match that with the great proportions of 37mm on the wrist, you have something that is a delight to wear and easily wearable for either men or women!
Whether you are a seasoned veteran in the watch community or a newbie, treat yourself to one of these incredible watches and experience a Seiko 5 at least once. It's a must-do if you are a true collector!
Points of Mention
This watch comes with no box or paperwork. It was partial serviced this year and is running nicely. The dial is clean and free of marks, the watch has been worn and therefore does have signs of wear to the bracelet and case. Overall a very fair example for an even fairer price!
My second ever automatic watch was a Seiko 5! I have had a love for them since and that will never go away, whenever the chance comes up to purchase one at a fair price I usually jump at it, this was no exception!
This is a beautiful 1950s Omega Bumper Automatic cased in a 14K Gold Filled case with matching gold hands and indices, paired on a lovely brown leather strap with an Omega buckle! Always love taking the caseback off to photograph a bumper automatic, the design is incredible and feeling of that weight bouncing from point to point when swayed is incredible. When I think of Omega I don't think of the huge, heavy and modern pieces I think of these beautiful smaller watches!
Vintage Seiko is always something special and whenever we get one in we all get very excited, however this one put us dead in our tracks. The design of this watch is so well thought out and shows what Seiko do well. The crosshair silver dial has developed a lovely and even patina, the gold tone hands are in great condition. But where this watch gets me is that date, it is a black date with gold text, how damn cool is that? Then a gold tone inner bezel, this watch is just beautiful.
If you are a Seiko fan then this watch is easily a no-brainer! However if you haven't given Seiko a chance in the past I would say here is your chance with a beautiful reference and one with a history that can continue to fascinate for years to come!
Points of Mention
This is sold as a watch only, no box or paperwork is provided and there is no service history. The watch features a gold plating which is showing signs of wear and discolouration in places, however it doesn't look out of place in my opinion due to the watch clearly looking old. The dial has developed an even patina, please see the photos to make up your own decision. The watch is in running condition and comes paired on an original leather Seiko strap.
I love this watch. I think if my description didn't show that then I don't know what will. I mean just look at the photos! If this watch had a "Prestigious Swiss" brand name on it I easily think it could be 10x the price and depending on that brand people wouldn't even take a double look and just buy! Snatch this up.
Vintage, oversized, 18k rose gold, manually wound chronograph, even patina, what more is there to want? I believe these Brands that are no longer with us offer some of the best value in the market, whether it be for a classic dress watch or something more like this beautiful Chronograph. The 38mm 18k Rose Gold case is a lovely warm rose gold tone instead of the deep copper colour we see today in modern watches, vintage rose gold is always a warmer tone. It contrasts perfectly to the dial which has developed beautiful and even patina over time, the blue telemeter scale and red tachymeter scale on the dial are still in great visible condition.
The watch is powered by a serviced Landeron 149 and has a great actuation when initiating, stopping and resetting the chronograph. The watch is paired on a nice Geckota brown leather strap which compliments the warm tone of the 18k Rose Gold and makes it an absolute treat to wear.
Points of Mention
The watch does have patina on the dial. The case was professional polished and is in good condition, the crown was replaced with a tone correct 18k rose gold crown when serviced, the watch was serviced in 2018 and running great.
When people talk value in the industry it's always a tough one as value means different things to different people. When I see a 18k gold vintage chronograph for under £1000 I see incredible value! If this watch was to have a more recognised brand on the dial it would be anywhere from 3x or 10x depending on the brand, that is value. Plus I like the idea that you will probably NEVER see another on someone's wrist.
I feel very honoured to be able to offer a Jeager-Le Coultre for sale on the website, this isn't any JLC either! This is a beautiful 18K Yellow Gold JLC from 1963 powered by the Cal. 800/C and the entire watch coming in at 9mm thick and as the caseback states it was also Patent Pending! The watch is paired on a Crocodile by JB Champion and looks incredible again the gold case and crisp white dial, wears perfectly on the wrist and being 34mm it makes for the most perfect dress watch! And it is a watch that those who know, will definitely know!
The long and elegant lugs allow for a great wrist presence and add to the clean aesthetic. If you are looking for the perfect dress watch I would very easily say look no further!
