The Watch
In 1973 the Calibre 1230 was introduced to the world, an incredible and unique tuning fork movement with an asymmetric tuning fork that resonates at 720Hz, whereas the more traditional tuning fork movements are 300Hz! It also used a series of magnetic gears to power the gear train, so the first few gears have no teeth like a traditional gear train, very complex and interesting stuff! Far out of my depth but super interesting nonetheless.
The reference 198.0038 we have here is an early reference featuring the movement, this watch was made the same year the movement was introduced! With its unique case shape and interesting bezel, you can tell Omega had the future in mind when designing this watch both inside and out! I think it truth looks brilliant both on and off the wrist and is a great testament to why Omega is one of the best watch brands in the world and thankfully is still under-priced for what they have achieved!
Points of Mention
This watch comes as a watch only and therefore has no box or paperwork, the watch however does come on an official Omega black leather strap with an official Omega buckle. The service history on the watch is unknown but the movement is clean and running flawlessly. This is a used/vintage watch but is in overall good condition.
Personal Note
This watch really shows what Omega is all about! Developing some of the very best movements in the world and making them functional and affordable to the world, this watch looks truly brilliant today as I'm sure it did in 1973!

I am excited to be bringing you a BRAND NEW Tudor Black Bay Steel, reference 79730, which was introduced in the 2017 Baselworld. The Black Bay Steel was the very first Black Bay to feature a date, soon followed by the Steel & Gold and then the Black Bay Chrono! So whilst it may have seemed like a small upgrade from the standard Black Bay by putting a steel bezel on, it was a lot more than that with the introduction of a new calibre featuring the date and also the practicality of actually having a date, it is the most useful complication for most!
This example I have for sale is Brand New and comes as a full set with its box and paperwork, hand tag and even still has its case barcode. The watch also comes with the NATO Strap which no longer come as standard next to the bracelet, you have to buy them separately now! The watch retails for £2750, so this is a NICE chunk of change off retail for brand new and the warranty only began in September 2019!
Points of Mention
This watch is sold as a complete set with its box, paperwork and hand tag, it also comes with the Tudor NATO strap which no longer come as standard from retail. The watch is sold as BRAND NEW and unworn, still featuring a few stickers and the case barcode. The watch was purchased September 2019 so still has its entire manufacturing warranty left. This really is a great deal for a brand new Tudor!
Personal Note
I remember when the Black Bay Steel was first released and I saw the photos, I really was not sold on it! But once it came into retail and I got to see it in the flesh and try it on, my mind changed instantly! Plus it looks incredible on the NATO!
The Watch
This lovely 1980s Omega Constellation Manhattan is in NOS (New Old Stock) condition, though a few hairline scratches may be found from the 30+ years of storage this watch has gone through. The size of this watch is what I would call a mid-size meaning both men and women could wear it, though some might say it is a bit on the smaller side. Personally I would not have any issues wearing this watch. The watch comes with the original sticker still on the back, original Omega handtag and the clasp is still nice and tight indicating it has barely, if ever, been properly used!
Points of Mention
This watch is sold as watch only and sold as NOS (New old Stock), however if may have a few hairline scratches from storage over the years. The watch still features the sticker on the case back and the original Omega hand tag, the clasp is still nice and tight indiciating never truly being worn and it still comes with its full bracelet. The watch has no service history but is running great.
Personal Note
As mentioned I would personally wear this watch, I think the design, bracelet and dial are incredible! My only wish would be for it to be mechanical, but then it definitely wouldn't be the price it is advertised at here!
The Watch
This outstanding Royal Airforce Pilots / Navigator watch dates to 1956 .The 36mm Stainless Steel case replaced the lower alloy cases that were originally on the watch during the 1940s, these were replaced by the MOD themselves, this gave the watch a much more premium feel whilst bringing it up to date to MOD standards. Used by Navigators for its accuracy before Radar. The Dial was replaced by the MOD when it was fitted with the new case in 1956.The luminous hands and hour pips make a nice addition. The black dial is nicely complemented by the Arabic numerals and a centre seconds hand which was also beneficial to accuracy for the RAF along with the infamous 30T2 Manually Wound Omega caliber.
Points of Mention
This watch is sold as watch only and therefore comes with no original Omega Box or Original Omega Paperwork. The watch comes paired on a black NATO strap. The case has been polished a few times in its 63 years, currently it has a polished finish rather than the original brushed finished. The dial and hands are original and in good condition, service history unknown but it runs well.
Personal Note
Whilst the watch is polished and not brushed it is still a great example of a Omega RAF 6B/159 and will make someone incredibly happy, a brushed finish could still be applied if wanted.
The Watch
The very first thing you will notice when putting this watch on, despite the crazy cool design and dial, is the way it feels and wears on the wrist. It sits incredibly well due to the unique case design, the way the lugs slope down the wrist and curve to make the watch lug to lug length the same as its case dimension. If you are in the market for something fun, unique and overall very different then Dietrich ticks the box with great build quality too, a reliable Japanese Miyota is inside and they work a treat too. The dial definitely lends itself to the organic feeling of nature, clearly inspired both in name and design.
Points of Mention
This watch is sold as a full set with its original Dietrich Box & original Dietrich paperwork and guarantee card which is unsigned, but the original purchase invoice from June 2016 is provided! The watch is in used condition but overall very good, it has barely been worn and is working well.
Personal Note
Having met Dietrich himself a few years ago SalonQP I was immediately enamoured by his watches and the man himself, he envisions everything you’d expect from a gentleman making fun and unique watches like this. I am excited to continue watching his journey and seeing what is to come!
The Watch
Definitely not everyone’s taste and a very clear product of the late 90s, it is still undeniably a ton of fun! It gets even better as this comes as a complete COMPLETE set with everything down to the purchase receipt, the original owner kept everything together from the day he walked out of the retailer in June 1998! These watches offered a ton of value for what it was back in the 90s and pre-owned I believe they do still offer a ton of value!
Points of Mention
This watch comes as a complete set with its original box, full bracelet with spare links, paperwork, purchase receipt and receipt for a recent Timpsons "Lifetime battery" change! It does not get more complete than this! The watch is in very good condition and has been well looked after over the years and comes from the original owner who purchased it in June 1998!
Personal Note
I can see it already, half of the people viewing this wondering "Has James gone mad?!" and the other half agreeing with me that this is pretty cool! The truth is it offers a complete set Swiss made watch from a reputable brand for £500... Why not?!
The Watch
When this watch was handed to me I could not believe I hadn't seen this reference! After posting some photos it became apparent that a fair few people hadn't either... The Hydro Conquest is a watch that offers so much value for the money and their latest models with the Ceramic bezels are incredible, but this slightly earlier Aluminium bezel reference with a striking white dial that looks lacquered in certainly lights and glossy, with the strong contrast of black outlined Arabic numerals which are lume filled... This watch aesthetically is on fire! Build quality wise it is a tank and movement wise it is a work horse! Being sold a complete set and running great with a full bracelet, you are getting one hell of a deal! Especially when you consider how few you see in the wild and for sale, I wonder if this will be mysterious Unicorn of the Hydro Conquest in years to come?
Points of Mention
This watch is sold with its box and paperwork, the watch also comes with 2 spare links making it a full bracelet. The guarantee card was signed in February 2017, making it out of manufacture warranty but it is running great and should have many more years until a service is due! The watch is worn and signs of wear can be seen, but overall it is in very good pre-owned condition and you will not be disappointed.
Personal Note
As mentioned, I could not believe I didn't see this reference before it got handed to me! Easily the best looking Hydro Conquest in my opinion and that is by a long shot! That is how good I think this looks, on wrist it is a dream too! Definitely wears big, but if you like big watches or have the wrist to pull it off you'll be over the moon with this!
The Watch
I am very excited to be offering this lovely vintage mid-sized Squale from the 1960s with its original Bakelite bezel which is in great condition, original dial with thick tritium which has aged incredibly well. Whilst 36mm it does wear very well and gives a true vintage diver feel on and off the wrist. Featuring a lovely silver dial which contrasts against the bi colour Bakelite bezel, these bezels where often broken or damaged over time due to their sensitivity, but this one looks great. Very similar styling to the newly release collaboration between Page & Cooper and Squale making the "Vintage Master" range.
Points of Mention
This watch is being sold as watch only and therefore comes with no original box or original paperwork. The watch comes with no known service history, it is running well for a vintage watch. The watch is pre-owned and vintage therefore signs of wear and age will be seen. The watch is original with its original Bakelite bezel, these are rare and often damaged but this one is in good condition.
Personal Note
If you are looking for a true vintage dive watch with great vintage styling and an iconic Bakelite bezel, then look no further! All this for an absolute bargain too, does not really get much better than that!
The Watch
I am excited to offer this beautiful 53 year old Omega Seamaster, very classical and simplistic in its design, which is what makes it so appealing to so many. This lovely example does feature a heavily patina’d dial, which is your choice on how you feel about that, personally I love it and discuss more about it in the "Personal Note" below. This reference sits so perfectly on the wrist at 34mm case size with a small 11mm thickness, it really does feel like a perfectly proportioned dress watch.
I think over the next few years we will start to see the prices of these classic Seamaster's only go up, especially with the increase desire in vintage watches and affordable vintage watches at that!
Points of Mention
This watch is sold as watch only and therefore comes with no original box or original paperwork. The watch does not come with previous service history, it is running and keeping good vintage time, when winding you can feel it is a bit gritty and in need of a service sooner rather than later. The dial does feature prominent patina, the photos show this so please judge for yourself. Overall in great cosmetic condition for its vintage age.
Personal Note
Patina, a discussion that often splits collectors into different groups, gets the forums into a mess and gets some people incredibly defensive! My take is, as long as it isn't damaging the watch, buy what you like! I personally really like this dial, I think it adds a lot of charm and makes it very unapologetically vintage! I mean, it is 53 years old!
The Watch
This striking Seiko Presage has a White dial with 3 subdials incorporating Power reserve, Day of the week and Date all in retrograde format. The 6R24 is a 28,800 bph movement with hand winding and hacking features. The sophisticated styling with the tapered sword hands and tapered indices, create a dress watch that stands out in the crowd, whilst also having the ability to be paired with a brown strap for a more casual look. The use of a Sapphire Crystal instead of the usual Seiko Hardlex again shows the attention to detail this Presage range brings to Seiko.
Points of Mention
This watch is sold as a full set and comes with it’s original Seiko box and original Seiko paperwork stating the date of purchase to be August 2018. This watch is sold in pre-owned condition but is in overall great condition with minimal wear. The watch works flawlessly and operates as it should.
Personal Note
The dial on this watch is the highlight for me personally, the eggshell tone gives it a far more vintage appeal than I think they even realised it would have. That mixed with the modern look of a retrograde dial, it is a well rounded package that offers a ton for not a lot of money!
The Watch
This Daytona 116520 in Stainless Steel is the very first Daytona to incorporate the Automatic Caliber 4130 movement, which replaced the Zenith El Primero. The stunning black dial is protected with Sapphire Crystal, surrounded by a Stainless Steel Tachymeter bezel which now is Ceramic on the latest model. To continue the sporting theme the pushers and crown are screw down. Fitting on the wrist is made easy with the secure Oyster Clasp. At 40mm it provides comfortable wrist presence and looks fantastic both on and off the wrist. These models are investment grade, especially when they are a complete set like this one!
Points of Mention
This watch is sold as a full set and comes with original Rolex Box and original Rolex Paperwork, including handtags, booklets and calendar paper. This watch is in good cosmetic condition, it has been polished over the years but still holds its great edges and is in great condition overall. The watch received a service in 2017 and is running great.
Personal Note
This is an example of an Investment Grade Rolex in my opinion, when it is a full set like this, in great condition like this etc… You have something that you can wear, enjoy and be looking at a healthy profit in a few years, maybe even sooner with how unpredictable the market can be sometimes.
The Watch
This beautiful 1964 Omega Oversized Reference 2748 was faithfully and professionally restored by SwissTec to the highest of standards, the dial is incredible and looks perfect, the case with its brushed and polished is brilliant! Overall you will not be disappointed with this 36mm dress watch that looks a million pounds both on and off the wrist! The finishing to the sector dial plays with the light perfectly, depending on what angle you have it the silvered numerals explode and give the watch a whole new feel!
Whilst restored dials aren't for everyone, I think they offer a vintage watch to people in perfect condition and faithful to how it originally looked. If done well it can even rival the original dial in how great it is, this is one of those examples!
Points of Mention
This watch is sold as watch only and comes with no box or paperwork. This watch comes on an original Omega strap with buckle. The watch was professionally and faithfully restored by SwissTec and comes with a purchase receipt from Austin Kaye from 2016. The watch was serviced in 2016 and is running well.
Personal Note
When an email hit my inbox stating a restored dial I was hesitant, but after seeing a few photos and then finally having the watch in hand I was absolutely blown away! This watch has changed my mind of restoring dials, for the right reasons you can bring new life to an old watch!
The Watch
Yema was founded in 1948 in Besançon (Doubs) by Henry Louis Belmont, the company created the first automatic chronometers manufactured entirely in France, and became famous for the technical excellence and sports features of its watches, famously known for Mario Andretti wearing one of their watches. The Valjoux 7734 was introduced in 1969 , Being a hand wound movement, once fully wound the 7734 will retain power for 45 hours.
The name ‘Valjoux’ comes from the mountainous region in Switzerland called ‘Valley de Joux’
The case of 39 mm is Chrome coated with a Stainless Steel case back. The original bezel in Kilometres continues the sporting theme of the watch. This example has the 2 sub dials of 60 seconds and 30 minutes with an Orange centre seconds hand . At the six o’clock position sits the date window. The included original rubber strap and buckle completes the set up perfectly.
Points of Mention
This watch is sold as watch only and therefore comes with no original Roamer box or original Roamer paperwork. The watch its original rubber strap which also features its original YEMA signed buckle. The chrome case is in overall good condition with a few signs of wear. The dial is all original and looks great, unknown service history but the watch is running well as is the Chronograph.
Personal Note
We have definitely seen a large rise in popularity in YEMA since the brand has been brought back to life, though they cannot beat their original watches which can still be had for a great price like this one! I wouldn’t pass on this!
The Watch
An automatic chronograph, from a well-respected brand, on a quality bracelet, with interesting and well balanced design… All for £2000? Best part is it’s 39mm, wearing perfectly on all wrists, both big and small! It is a sweet spot, especially for a chronograph.
This Chronomat featured a beautiful silver dial which contrasts perfectly against the white subdials, match that with the infamous all polished finish that Breitling are famous for… You end up with a very surprisingly pleasing product, both on and off the wrist!
Points of Mention
This watch is sold as watch only, there it comes with no box or paperwork. The watch does come with spare links, it is in great working condition and is in great used condition! Overall a great package for the price.
Personal Note
I honestly didn't think I would enjoy this watch too much on wrist, but the moment it went on it completely changed my mind! I was concerned that the highly polished finish all over the watch would become far too over powering, but instead it wears so well and doesn't give off a super overly flashy persona to it!
The Watch
Whilst this watch comes in quite large at 44mm it really works well on the wrist, especially considering your eyes will be drawn to the beautiful panda dial which is very well designed and proportioned for the watch. Plus Panda dials are all the rage right now, so to get that in a true Swiss Made watch with a quality movement in, all for under £1000... How can you go wrong? Mido really do offer a while lot of value on the pre-owned market for what they create, I think we will start to see their name pop up more over the next few years!
Points of Mention
This watch is being sold with its original Mido travel case which is leather, the watch was serviced in 2018 but comes with no paperwork for this as they were misplaced by the previous owner, however the gaskets and crown that was replaced during the service is provided in the travel case. The watch is pre-owned and does come with signs of wear, but overall is in good condition and is running well.
Personal Note
This watch really does offer a lot of value for the money. Especially for those looking for a nice panda dial chronograph from a Swiss company with great build quality and an equally great movement! Boom... Look no further!
The Watch
Here we have an all original High Beat Zenith which shouts 1970s in its shape and colour profile. The Stainless Steel case protects the stunning brushed silver dial with silver Batons followed by blue detailing fill in them. A day/date is situated at the 3 o’clock position. A movement of the highly respected High Beat 36000 A/h, Zenith / Movado 405, 28 jewels, Incabloc shock protected, 40 h power reserve, sweep second hand, Triovis micrometer regulator. Zenith and Movado collaborated a lot in the past, this is one of those movements that they did so on! The original Zenith signed N.S.A steel bracelet adds the perfect finish, especially with its spring loaded clasp.
Points of Mention
This watch is sold as watch only and therefore comes with no original Zenith box or original Zenith paperwork. The watch is sold on its original Zenith signed N.S.A. bracelet with stretching clasp. The watch is all original and is running well as it has received a service this year.
Personal Note
Zenith is a personal favourite brand of mine, personally owning multiple and having stock of a few incoming, I love them! I truly believe it is one of the most underrated vintage brands going right now and I don’t think that can continue!
The Watch
Watches of Switzerland is a Jewellery and Watch retailer that started in 1924 in Ludgate Hill here in London, it has gone on to be one of the largest retailers of Watches in the UK. This watch was made for the company in the 1970s, a very common practice by retailers as they believed their own branded watches could sell as well as their own branded jewellery, this wasn't quite the case with most companies stopping this after a few years of doing it. This Watches of Switzerland watch I have to offer you here is a very unusual one as the design is very out there, they certainly didn't play it safe and that is what drew me to this watch! The vibrant gold plating contrasting against the subtle grey tone of the dial, simple WoS logo at 12o'clock and a date, nothing more, very classic! Paired on an integrated mesh bracelet, it really does stand out on the wrist and look awesome!
Points of Mention
This watch is sold as watch only and comes with no box or paperwork. The watch is original and shows signs of age, gold plating has hold up very well over the years but is showing signs of discolouration in a few areas. There is no service history with the watch, though it is running well, service would be recommended if worn daily.
Personal Note
Definitely not for the faint hearted this watch, but if you are brave enough to wear it you will have a ton of fun! Even better if you work at or know someone who works at Watches of Switzerland, this could be an incredible gift and someone that will certainly wow the office or store!
