1940s Movado Sport “Non Magnetic”

The Watch

Movado was founded in 1881 and was called  LAI Ditescheim & Freres SA, in La Chaux-De Fonds, Switzerland. By Léopold Achille Isidore Ditesheim.  In 1905 it changed its name to Movado. Much easier to fit on a watch dial. The watch is made of Stainless Steel and has a screw down case back. The dial is two tone with the second hand at 6 o’clock in its own sub dial. The fine pencil hands add to the elegance of the watch. The Switzerland name sits proudly on the bottom, unusual as most brands abbreviated it to Swiss by this time. Inside we have a Movado 150 MN  which is manual wind, beats at 18,000 bph and has a 43 hour power reserve .

Points of Mention

This watch is sold as watch only and therefore comes with no original Movado box or original Movado paperwork, the watch is from Circa. 1940s and therefore is truly vintage. The watch is in original, unpolished condition and does have signed of aging with patina to the dial and case. The watch has no known service history but is running well.

Personal Note

Whilst definitely on the smaller side for most guys I think this would suit a lady perfectly or a gentleman who is not afraid of a smaller watch. I’d personally wear this without much issue, but I understand not everyone would!
