Here we have a lovely Universal Geneve dress watch from the late 1950s, the dial features a patina'd ivory tone with longleaf hands, over-sized subsidiary second counter at 6 o'clock... Overall it looks brilliant, the gold plating of the case is aged and showing some warmer tones, which only complements the dial. On the wrist, it feels brilliant, so much dial which makes the watch look larger on the wrist, plus being at 36mm it sits perfectly.
Points of Mention
This watch is sold as watch only and therefore comes with no box or paperwork, this is a vintage watch, therefore, signs of wear and age will be seen! The sub-second hand has been replaced in the past, the dial is showing signs of age and a few marks, the case is gold plated with a stainless steel snapback. There is no service history, though the watch is working.
Universal Geneve is one of the brands that still offer so much value for money and I think their models beyond the Polerouter still have lots of room for growth in the market too! This model is a great example, looks brilliant, feels brilliant and from a brilliant brand.
