Seiko re-issued in 2018 their iconic 7A28-7000 chronographs worn by Lieutenant Ripley in the 1986 film Aliens. Originally designed by the Italian designer, Giorgetto Giugiaro. Giugiaro designed the watch as a motoring watch which Seiko called the “Speed Master line”. Its futuristic design fitted perfectly within the bleak Alien universe. This model was launched under the Seikos “Spirit Line” of watches. The SCED047 was limited to 2000 pieces. Its distinctive asymmetric design is stainless steel with matte black hardened coating. Its round case has on its right side the gold-coloured chronograph pushers encased in a cylinder, and the crown is recessed with a portion scoop away to enable you to operate the crown. A black bezel holds the flat Hardlex crystal. The black dial has an outer tachymeter chapter ring. Lumed baton markers for the hours, recessed at 3 o’clock a 24-hour register, at 6 o’clock a 60-minute register, and finally at 9 o’clock the continuous 60-second register. At 3 o’clock a date window. Slim gold-coloured baton hands alongside a chronograph seconds hand. On the reverse a snap-on case back. Inside a quartz 7T12 Caliber movement. Fitted on its original Seiko 18mm bracelet in the same black hardened coating with a signed folding clasp.
