Points of Mention

This watch is sold with its Original Oris Box & Oris Paperwork. The watch comes paired on its original Oris signed rubber tropic strap with Oris signed buckle. The watch is in worn condition with a few signs of wear, most notable are scratches on the case back, which can be polished out on request. The watch was originally purchased in February 2019 and is still under its original manufacture warranty, it is running great.

The Watch

Unveiled in 2015 at Baselworld the Oris Divers Sixty-Five, a heritage line up capturing the essence of the original, with the use of modern materials and movements bring it up to date. Unlike the original, the case size is a more contemporary 40mm and all stainless steel in construction. The case is polished on its sides whilst the lug tops are brushed creating a seamless transition between the two. The bezel is unidirectional with a lume pip at 12 o’clock, the edges have enough ridge depth to make turning a breeze. It is clearly marked for 0-60 minutes. The screw-down signed crown is large enough for easy adjustment. A domed Sapphire crystal is AR coated allowing for excellent viewing angles under different lighting conditions. The curved glossy black dial has Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6, 9 highlighted in lume with baton markers in between, painted in SuperLuminova. Reminiscent of the original 1965 model this is based. Slim sword hands are complimented with a seconds hand complete with lollipop near its top, again SuperLuminova is applied to them. A small date window sits at the 6 o’clock position. The screw-down case back is nicely decorated with the Oris shield engraved. Being a divers watch we have a Certified  ISO-6425 rating, which means it must be water-resistant to a minimum of 330 feet (100 meters) in depth. It is required that the watch must also feature a time controller and comply with standards provided by NIHS 92-11 (ISO 6425) for luminosity, shock resistance, anti-magnetism, and band solidity. Inside sits the Automatic Oris Caliber 733 (Sellita SW200-1) 26 Jewels beating at 28800 Beats per hour. Fitted on its original 20mm black tropical style strap complete with its signed Oris buckle.

Personal Note

My personal favourite Oris 65 that they make, the truest to the original and the best-looking one, especially on this tropic rubber! I adore those over-exaggerated numerals which are full of lume, just contrasts so well against the overall design, true sixties and seventies design! Plus, under £1000 these are a no-brainer to any collector, whether new to the hobby or a seasoned pro!
