Points of Mention

This watch is sold with its original Oris box and original Oris paperwork, the watch was purchased from retail in April 2018 as signed on the guarantee. The watch comes paired on its original stainless steel Oris bracelet with spare links. The watch is in worn condition but is overall very good, see the photos. The watch is running well as you would expect.

The Watch

Oris has been making Swiss watches since 1904. The  Aquis was first introduced in 2011. It’s tactile bezel and crown with a highly legible dial won praise amongst the industry. The 43.5mm stainless steel case has brushed and polished surfaces, with angled lugs, make for a comfortable fit on the wrist. A screw-down crown protected by crown guards provides 300m water resistance. Sapphire crystal with AR coating protects the sunburst dial which glints in the light with broad baton silver-toned indexes filled with luminescence. The handset used has obelisque shaped silver-toned hour and minute hands filled with luminescence, along with a center sweeping seconds lollipop hand. A date window at 6 o’clock has a contemporary design of white numerals against a black background.  Inside we have the Oris 733 an automatic movement, based on the Sellita SW200-1. The balance has a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour and the movement contains 26 jewels. The screw-down exhibition case back shows off the characteristic red balance weight which Oris has become well known for. Fitted with an integrated stainless steel bracelet with security folding clasp and divers extension.

Personal Note

The Oris Aquis has always been a favourite of mine! Oris has nailed the diver lineup offering with the Divers 65 and the Aquis, one vintage-inspired and one very modern and no doubt will be a future icon. The vibrant blue is so dynamic that in some low light situations you could mistake it for black, then in direct light it shines a great deep blue like the depths of the ocean, very fitting for sure.
