Points of Mention

This watch is sold with its original Bremont box and Bremont paperwork. The watch comes paired on its original Bremont leather strap with a signed buckle and spare strap included. The watch is from March 2021 and is sold in worn condition, but overall great condition as you can see, likely worn less than a handful of times at most. The watch comes with its manufacturer warranty which is able to used by whoever owns the watch and has the warranty card.

The Watch

In 2019 Bremont introduced the H-4 Hercules Limited Edition of 300 pieces, commemorating the famous 1940s Hughes-era aircraft. Nicknamed the "Spruce Goose" after its mostly wood-based construction (due to aluminum restrictions during the war), it was the largest plane ever built at that time. Sadly due to a change by the Department of Defense, only one H-4 was made and designed to carry 750 troops or two 30-ton tanks. It remains one of the largest flying boats ever made. You can see the H-4 Hercules, aka the Spruce Goose, on display at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in McMinnville, Oregon, USA.

Our 2021 Bremont H-4 Hercules has a 43mm stainless steel case based on the three-piece Trip-Tick case construction system made up of 3 parts, a hardened steel bezel, a middle section made from Titanium, or DLC treated middle barrel, and finally, a steel case back. Elegant chamfered curved lugs comfortably sit over your wrist. Expertly brushed and polished surfaces transition with crisp edges. On the right side a screw-down crown with deep knurling and a signed cap. The brushed bezel holds a flat anti-reflective sapphire crystal, An outer 24 hours chapter ring with day/night separation. The minute track precisely printed on the black metallic dial. Applied polished Arabic numerals play with the light as you rotate your wrist at 6 o’clock a brushed Nickel date window. Nickel/rose gold syringe hands coated in SuperLumiNova. A GMT arrow hand is easily adjusted. At 9 o’clock, a 60 seconds register with H-4 Hercules printed inside.

On the reverse,  each of the H-4 Hercules has a winding rotor made from the actual birch wood sourced from the fuselage of the H-4 Hercules. Inside an Automatic Bremont BWC/02, 25 jewels, 28,800 beats per hour. Built-in partnership with La Joux Perret, who produced the BWC/01 Calibre. The slate grey movement has a Glucydur balance, Nivarox CT balance spring. Each watch is handcrafted and tested at Bremont's state-of-the-art facility in Henley-on-Thames, UK. The watch comes fitted on a vintage leather strap with a signed steel buckle and an additional grey vintage NATO strap.

Personal Note

A beautifully executed watch with an amazing slice of history hidden within, only visible through the back for the owner's pleasure, that is pretty cool! The way this watch wears on the wrist is surprisingly good for a watch of its dimensions, plus the design overall really helps with that, from the sloping lugs, to the dial design and finish, everything draws your eyes inwards to the dial. It just so happens to help that this is the best-priced reference available anywhere!
