Karl Ickler founded the company in 1924 in Germany. During the war years, the factory was dormant but in 1947 his two sons rebuilt the company. Today the company is run by the third generation Thomas Ickler, making premium watches and watch cases. The 45mm Ickler case is made inhouse by experienced craftsmen machined from a solid piece of stainless steel. Finely brushed finishing. AR Coated sapphire crystal provides excellent visibility of the black dial. Lumed outer minute track, Arabic numerals make telling the time a breeze. Lumed Alpha hands in heat blue steel sit above a seconds sub-dial. An exhibition case back shows off the manually wound ETA 6498 17 Jewels 18,000 beats per hour. Having an onion crown makes gripping and adjustment easy. Fitted on a 22mm leather strap with steel rivets.
Points of Mention
This watch is sold with its original Archimede box and original Archimede paperwork. The watch comes paired on its original Archimede leather strap with signed buckle. The watch is in worn condition, see the photos. The case shows signs of wear, some of the anti-reflective coating has begun to come off. The watch is running well as you would expect, serviced in 2017 but no papers to back this, however reading on the timegrapher backs this.
For someone looking for a great looking pilots watch this is an excellent option, especially when you turn around and get to see the large oversized manually would movement. Large case size at 45mm, but it is what you come to expect with a true pilots watch.
