The watch comes with its Longines presentation box and papers and comes on it's original strap. The watch is from February 2020 and is sold in worn condition, however, overall as you can see the watch is in fair condition. The watch comes with our 12-Month Warranty.

The Watch

Longines was founded in 1832 by Auguste Agassiz and is considered to be the oldest registered watch brand. The Longines factory was opened in 1867 in Saint-Imier Switzerland. From this date, the name Longines was present on their dials and the winged hourglass was engraved onto their movements. After visiting the Universal Exhibition of 1876 in the United States, Longines became pioneers in mechanised production. In 1880 the brand name was filed with the Federal Office of Intellectual Property; later their logo was registered in 1889. Their first wristwatch with a single pusher the caliber 13.33z was introduced in 1913. They became the official supplier for the International Aeronautical Federation in 1919. Lindbergh, the aviator, and adventurer, worked with Longines to create the Hour Angle watch in 1927. Their first self-winding caliber 22A was produced in 1945. With continued innovation and technical achievements, Longines became the official timekeeper for Formula one in 1983 for 10 years. They also in 2009 became the official timekeeper for the French Open at Roland Garros. Purchased in 1971 by ‘Ebauches SA’, Swiss watchmakers SSIH who owned Omega, Tissot, and Lemania, and ASUAG who owned Certina, Endura, Eterna, Hamilton, Longines, Mido, and Rado. were merged in 1983 to become the Swatch Group in 1998.

This beautiful 35mm vintage-inspired dress watch harps back to the original Longines Conquest from the 1950s, typically with these heritage re-issues the brands cannot resist changing a fair few things, whether that be the size or subtle upgrades to make it more "modern". I am pleased to say Longines resisted this temptation and created the perfect modern version of the classic watch! A sunray silver dial with gilt applied indexes that shimmer in the light as you rotate your wrist. Elegant dauphine hands in the same gilt with the tip infilled with luminescence complemented by a tapered sweeping second hand. The dimensions are basically identical 42.5mm lug to lug apart from this watch being slightly thinner at 10mm thanks to a modern and slimmer automatic movement, they even kept the domed acrylic crystal, probably one of the most attractive parts of a vintage wristwatch. Despite the smaller case dimensions on paper, it wears so well, easily can compete with any 37mm watch on wrist presence. On the reverse a screw-down case back with the gold medallion in the center. Inside an Automatic Longines Cal. L633, 28,800 beats per hour. The watch comes fitted on an 18mm Longines leather strap with a signed buckle.
