In 2016 Bremont released a limited edition of 100 pieces for Timeless Luxury Watches, an American retailer based in Texas. This Bremont U2/T is a modification to their Martin Baker collection, famous for their Ejector seats built in England. These watches are subjected to a rigorous amount of testing alongside the Ejector seats. The 43mm brushed stainless steel case uses the Bremont Trip-Tick construction system made up of 3 parts, a hardened steel bezel, a middle section made from Titanium or DLC treated middle barrel, and finally a steel case back. A 49.5mm lug to lug length gives the watch a real wrist presence. On the right side at 2 o’clock a screw-down crown to adjust the inner chapter ring and at 4 o’clock a screw-down crown for adjusting the time and date, both have deep knurling making gripping them even with gloves a satisfying experience. The “Star” end cap is inspired by the American P51 Mustang which had a star on its wings and fuselage.
The brushed hardened bezel holds a domed sapphire crystal with AR coating applied to both sides, greatly reducing reflections. A black inner 12-hour scale bi-directional chapter ring rotates with the crown at 2 o'clock and has beige coloured markings. The black dial has thickly applied beige-coloured Super-LumiNova Arabic numerals, plongeur watch hands alongside a sweeping seconds hand with a red-framed arrow point tip. Text is minimalist with only “Bremont” and “London” printed on it. The simplicity of this vintage-inspired watch is a characteristic of a Bremont timepiece.
On the reverse, stainless steel screwed in case back with “Martin-Baker Ejection Seat” emblem in the center and the number out of 100 engraved. Inside suspended between a rubber sandwich we have the movement. This combination of parts to the case acts as a faraday cage making it anti-magnetic and very shock absorbent. Bremont Automatic BE-36AE, 25 jewels, 28,800 beats per hour COSC certified to ISO 3159 standard. Made up of an Anachron balance spring, Nivaflex 1 mainspring with a molded skeletonised rotor. Based on the Swiss ETA 2836. The watch comes with a 22mm leather strap and a 22mm “Hambledon'' NATO-style leather strap both with a signed buckle and comes with its Bremont presentation box and papers.
