The Watch

Here we have a 2015 Meistersinger Chronoskop Blue MM402G with a 43mm polished stainless steel case. A lug to lug length of 51mm and a case thickness of 14.7mm gives the watch an impressive wrist presence. Down the right side, we have the rectangular chronograph pushers and in the center a large deep knurled crown. The thin smooth polished bezel holds a domed sapphire crystal. A deep blue dial has an outer minute track precisely printed with small white Arabic numerals. Gilt Arabic hour indices are a nice contrast against the deep blue. At 12 o’clock a 30-minute register. The characteristic gilt needle hand hits the minute track accurately, helping you quickly tell the time in this unique way. A tapered chronograph hand completes this striking Chronoskop. At 6 o’clock we have the Meistersinger motif. On the reverse, a screwed-down exhibition case back with deep engraving. Inside an Automatic Modified Valjoux 7750. The rotor has been expertly decorated and has the Meistersinger motif engraved into it. The watch comes fitted on its original 20mm leather strap with a signed buckle. The watch also comes with its Meistersinger presentation box and unsigned papers.

Personal Note

Meistersinger has always done things their way and I'll always have a lot of respect for that, they know what they do well and they do it, they don't seem to follow trends and provide what the masses want. This watch is the perfect example of that, a single hand to display the time coupled with a chronograph for function, it feels like two opposite worlds, the ease of time with the single hand and the fast succession of time with the chronograph, I really like it!

The Brand

Manfred Brassler, founded Meistersinger in 2001. They are based in Munich, the Capital City of Bavaria, Germany. Their watches display time in the same way as the first clocks.  A single hand is pointing to a moment in time. A very unique and relaxing method of reading time.
