Guccio Gucci founded the House of Gucci in Florence in 1906. In 1938, Gucci opened his first boutique in Rome. Guccio's death in 1953, left the business to his son, Aldo. He quickly expanded the company by opening more boutiques in New York, London, Paris, and Tokyo. Gucci continued as one of the largest luxury goods retailers until the late 1970s when a string of bad business decisions led the company to the brink of bankruptcy. To try to recapture their past success in 1997 they launched Gucci watches which have grown continuously with their work ethic of high technical precision and an eye for a great design, granted, not all to our taste but some definitely are lovely.
Here we have a classic 1990s Gucci "Tank" Swiss Quartz 4200M. The 24.5mm gold plated “Tank” case has elegant lines and rounded corners.
