Points of Mention

This watch is sold as "Watch Only" and therefore comes with no original Omega box or paperwork. The watch comes paired on its original Omega beads of rice bracelet with a signed Omega clasp, the length of the bracelet is 20cm. The watch is from Circa. 1969 and is sold in worn, vintage condition, but overall good condition as you can see. The watch comes with our 12-Months NON-Waterproof Warranty.

The Watch

Formerly known as the La Generale Watch Co. it was founded by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1848. In 1903, they renamed the company Omega until 1982 when they officially changed their name to Omega SA. They are today part of the Swiss Swatch Group. The Seamaster Cosmic was introduced in 1967, jumping on the hype for space travel and everything space-related. The continued relationship with NASA only strengthened Omega’s position, as the preferred manufacturer. It generated new life into the Seamaster range. The production run was for less than a decade.

Our Omega Seamaster Cosmic has a monocoque (coque in French means hull) case design, made from a solid piece of stainless steel, access to the movement is by removing the crystal with a special tool. The curve of the case ends at stubby lugs. A flat back and angled sides make the watch comfortable to wear. On the right side a large signed crown. The case holds the domed crystal. Its silver dial has a brushed surface. An outer blue chapter ring with applied steel indexes, finished with chamfered edges that catch the light as you rotate your wrist. At 3 o’clock a day/date framed window. Slim sword hands with black infill complete with a tapered sweeping center seconds hand. At 12 o’clock the applied Omega, at 6 o’clock “Seamaster” “Cosmic” printed in black. On the reverse, the Hippocampus etched onto the surface. Inside an Automatic Omega Cal. 752, 24 jewels, 19,800 beats per hour. The Quickest date is done by repeatedly pulling the crown into the final position. The watch comes fitted on its original 'beads of rice' Omega bracelet with signed clasp.

Personal Note

What a stunning example this is, the dial is just perfect with a sharp silver-tone and vibrant outer blue ring, truly spectacular. Plus the addition of the bracelet is always a nice plus, wears beautifully on the wrist and I always prefer this reference on a bracelet as opposed to a strap. A ton of value for the money, without question.
