Points of Mention

This watch is sold as watch only and therefore comes with no original Omega box or original Omega paperwork. The watch comes paired an original Omega "Beads of Rice" bracelet with spare links, also provided is a brown leather strap. The watch is a used vintage watch, therefore signs of wear and age will be seen, please see photos. The dial and hands are service replacements, not factory original from 1958, the original crystal with the engraved Omega logo directly in the center is present. The movement has been serviced and comes with a 6 month NON-WATERPROOF warranty.

The Watch

The Seamaster is Omega’s longest-running line, first introduced in 1948. It is loosely based on designs made for the Royal Navy towards the end of World War 2. In 1955 diver Gordon Mclean dived to a record-breaking depth of 62.5 meters (205ft) wearing the Seamaster in Australia, granted a different model but the Seamaster line covers that many variations. Our watch is an all polished stainless steel 34mm case, with a polished bezel. An acrylic crystal protects the dial. The dial has baton hour markers and slim baton hands, complete with a sweeping centre seconds hand. Text is minimal with Omega Automatic and Seamaster. Overall a very elegant dial. The screw-down case back has the engraved Omega Hippocampus logo. Inside we have the Omega Automatic Cal.503 beating at an unusual 19,800 beats per hour. Fitted with an original 18mm Omega bead of rice stainless steel bracelet with signed clasp.

Personal Note

There is always something classic and great about a vintage Omega Seamaster, sure the modern diver is awesome, but this vintage classic is truly timeless! This being 1958 it is quite an early example too, sure it has service dial and hands, but they are nice and look great with the watch. The addition of the original Beads of Rice bracelet is a nice touch too, brown strap paired so you are set for a lifetime of wear! To be completely honest, a good vintage Seamaster could be my only watch if I had to choose! Thankfully I don't haha!
