First introduced in 1969 it saw the change from the Tudor Rose to the Applied Shield at 12 o’clock which represented the characteristics of reliability and solidity. The OysterDate became as popular as the Rolex Oyster models of the time.
Our 1993 mid-sized 32mm stainless steel oyster case has a brushed satin finish. Signed screw-down crown. Beveled polished bezel protects a flat Sapphire crystal above a white dial with an outer minute track, elegant Roman numerals with crisp lines for the hour markers. A cyclops date window at 3 o’clock. Steel baton hands with lume infill complete with a sweeping seconds hand. Applied shield at 12 o’clock with Tuor and Prince OysterDate underneath. On the back, we have the screw-down case back. Inside an Automatic ETA 2824-2 25 Jewels 28800 Beats per hour. Fitted on its original Tudor 17mm satin-brushed stainless steel bracelet with signed clasp.
Points of Mention
This watch is sold with its original Tudor signed paperwork as photographed, no box is provided. The watch comes paired on an original Tudor folded oyster bracelet with Tudor signed clasp. The watch is from April 1993 and is in as close to old stock as possible, sticker still present on the case back, never polished and all original. The watch is running great and comes with KibbleWatches 12-Months NON-Waterproof Warranty.
Whilst at 32mm most people would think it is too small for them, but for anyone who has tried on an Oyster case would know, they wear bigger than their mm size, this wears like a 33mm/34mm in my opinion. This watch makes a fantastic birth-year watch for someone born in 1993, or just a great watch for anyone wanting a great looking Datejust that's smaller and far more affordable.
