Brand Directory: Montblanc

Montblanc has been famous for its fountain pens since 1908. Their involvement in watch manufacturing didn’t happen until 1997, when Montblanc Montre S. A. was created in Le Locle, Switzerland, an area with a long and dynamic history of watchmaking. Minerva, based in Villeret, has a rich history dating back to 1858. Richemont bought this distinguished company in 2006 and later renamed it the ’Institute Minerva de Recherche en Haute Horlogerie’.  Immediately Montblanc rebranded Minerva to Villeret. The manufacturing facility in Villeret has introduced a diverse collection of watches, including many complications such as mono-pusher, chronographs and tourbillons. Since 2015 Davide Cerrato has been the managing director of their “watch division”. He brings with him experience from Panerai and Tudor where he was in charge of marketing design and product development.
