The Watch
Frederique Constant based in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva, Switzerland was founded in 1988 by Peter Stas and Aletta Stas-Bax. Here we have an elegant Frederique Constant, its 39mm stainless steel round case is gold plated. Stubby lugs with a lug to lug length of 43mm and a thickness of an incredibly thin 5.5mm ensures a comfortable fit under the cuff. A slim bezel holds a flat sapphire crystal above a white dial. Alternating applied Arabic numerals and inverted dagger indexes mark the hours. At 3 o’clock a date window. Fine leaf hands are complemented with a sub-seconds register at 6 o’clock. On the reverse, a stainless steel case back. Inside a Swiss Quartz movement. The watch comes fitted on a 20mm Frederique Constant leather strap with a signed buckle.
Personal Note
When I saw this watch I was quite astonished by the price, so affordable for such a great-looking watch. Sure, it's quartz... But what a great looking timepiece great for the occasional dressy situation or for someone who wants a dressier watch that doesn't break the bank, plus I reckon this would make a great gift!
