The Watch

Le Petit-Fils de L.-U. Chopard & Cie S.A. is more commonly known as Chopard. It was founded in 1860 by Louis-Ulysse Chopard in Sonvilier, Switzerland; Germany’s Scheufele family has owned Chopard since 1963. Their clients included Tsar Nicholas II of Russia. In 1974 they moved their headquarters to the center of Geneva.

Launched in 1993, the Happy Sports model is the first watch to combine diamonds with a stainless steel case. The concept was created by their in-house designer, Ronald Kurowski, in 1976. This 36mm high polished case has gently curved lugs for a comfortable fit. On the right side a sapphire cabochon screw-down crown. A plain polished bezel holds a flat sapphire crystal. A glossy black dial has applied steel over-sized Roman numeral and baton indexes marking the hours. Uniquely you have a horseshoe with 15 diamonds, seven black, eight white, and four brilliant-cut floating diamonds, which with the rotation of your wrist, you can try to get the diamonds into the horseshoe. Broad sword hands with a tapered seconds hand complete this playful dial between the 4 and 5 a date window. On the reverse, a screwed-down case back with Chopard and Happy Sports engraved into it. Inside a quality Swiss Quartz movement. The watch comes fitted with an 18mm Chopard rubber strap and signed buckle. Comes with its Chopard leather box and manual.

Personal Note

Something for the ladies with this one, whilst it won't be for everyone that is exactly what we stock in general and we wanted to bring the same with the ladies watches we occasionally get in stock. The size of this at 36mm is fantastic as it's not too dainty and little, but nothing too crazy large either. Plus you are getting yourself on great bargain on retail with this watch.
