Bulova Company was founded in 1875 by Joseph Bulova. Based in New York they moved to 580 Fifth Avenue in 1920. In 1923 Bulova Watch Inc was introduced.
Our 2021 Bulova Chronograph Surfboard 98A252 is inspired by the dive chronograph watches from the 1970s. Its distinctive black oval “surfboard” covers the two registers and gives the watch its nickname. A 40.5mm round stainless steel case has broad stubby lugs. The lug to lug length of 46.5mm and a thickness of 14.5mm gives the watch excellent wrist presence. Down the right side, you have the chronograph pushers and signed crown. A black and red dive bezel holds a double domed sapphire box crystal. An outer Tachymetre scale is finely printed. Applied baton indexes mark the hours. At 3 o’clock a 60-minute register and at 9 o’clock a 60 seconds register. Broad baton hands are coated in SuperLumiNova and orange-tipped complemented by an orange chronograph hand. On the reverse, a screw-down case back. Inside a Meca-Quartz Cal. 6S21. The watch comes fitted on a 20mm Bulova perforated silicon strap with a signed deployment clasp.
