Points of Mention

This watch is sold with its original Oris box and Oris paperwork, all included. The watch comes paired on its original stainless steel bracelet with Oris signed clasp. The watch is from December 2017 and is in worn condition, but overall very good as you can see from the photos. The watch comes with our 12-Months Warranty.

The Watch

Oris was founded in 1904 by two men, Paul Cattin and Georges Christian. The name comes from a brook in the Swiss town of Hölstein, in a short period they became the largest employer in Hölstein. By 1929, they had a total of six factories. At the end of the 1960s, Oris became one of the world’s largest watch companies, producing approximately 1.2 million timepieces a year.

The Aquis was first introduced in 2011. A tactile ceramic bezel and a large crown with a highly legible dial won praise amongst the industry. The 43mm stainless steel case has brushed and polished surfaces, with angled lugs, for a comfortable fit on the wrist. A screw-down crown protected by crown guards. A black ceramic dive bezel with deeply etched markings. Sapphire crystal with AR coating protects the sunburst deep blue dial which glints in the light with broad baton silver-toned indexes filled with Super Luminova luminescence. The handset used has an obelisk-shaped silver-toned hour and minute hands filled with Super Luminova luminescence, along with a center sweeping second's lollipop hand. A date window at 6 o’clock has a contemporary design of white numerals against a black background. Inside we have the Oris 733, an automatic movement, based on the Sellita SW200-1. The balance has a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour, and the movement contains 26 jewels. The screw-down exhibition case back shows off the characteristic red balance weight which Oris has become well known for. The watch comes fitted with an integrated stainless steel bracelet with a security folding clasp and divers extension and comes with its Oris presentation box and papers.

Personal Note

I've never made it a secret that I think Oris offers some of the very best value for money watches that you can buy on the market at the moment, and that's at retail! So when they become pre-owned and the price gets even better, they become a real no-brainer! Just like this Aquis, I'd recommend it to anyone, even with smaller wrists, at 43.5mm it sounds like a massive watch, but believe me, on the wrist, it wears so much different!
