Points of Mention

This watch is sold with its original Schofield box and Schofield paperwork. The watch comes with two Schofield 24mm straps, a Schofield signed buckle, and a 24mm orange Hirsh strap in the box. The watch is from Circa. 2015 and is in worn condition, as you can see from the photos; the case, being all polished, does have scratches to the finish; an entire case refurb can be provided at an additional cost. Schofield serviced the watch in December 2018 and comes with paperwork for that. The watch comes with our 12-Months NON-Waterproof Warranty.

The Watch

Here we have a 2015 Schofield Signalman GMT Polished Limited Edition of 283/300 pieces. Inspired by the 18th and 19th-century Lighthouses found around the UK coastline. It has a 44mm stainless steel case with its shape based on the powerful lights used in a Lighthouse; it is highly polished, giving a mirror finish. The case has a 4 part patented construction of stainless steel, which explains its 15.5mm thickness on the outside, and a 2 part anti-magnetic movement shell with a lug-to-lug length of 51mm, giving the watch an impressive wrist presence. The crown has two gaskets that, once locked down, give the watch water resistance. The sapphire crystal sits just under the lip of the bezel, and it has AR Coating for better viewing. The black dial is made of brass and coated in copper oxide to give it the black; it is multi-leveled with the applied numerals and indexes on the top level while the power reserve indicator and GMT Subdial, a date window at 3 o’clock are recessed on the lower level. The pusher for the GMT is unusually built into and through the lug assembly. Its diamond-polished hands are held by tiny pins and filled with Superluminova. On the back, a screw-down case back with a Lighthouse engraving radiating light, inside an automatic Swiss Soprod Cal. 9335 based on the Soprod Alternance 10 Calibre (A10) movement with the 9335 module placed on top to handle the Power Reserve and the GMT complications, 25 jewels, 28,800 beats per Hour. The watch comes paired with two Schofield 24mm straps and a Schofield signed buckle, plus a 24mm orange Hirsh strap in the box and comes with its Schofield presentation box and paperwork.

Personal Note

I have always been a vocal fan of Schofield watches, their bold and unapologetic designs and their enthusiastic CEO Giles! Now, I'm even more biased being a proud owner of a Schofield... I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this watch and add it to your collection, it's big and bold and unapologetic in its design, as it should be!

The Brand

Giles Ellis made a grand debut of his brand, Schofield at the Salon QP event held in London back in 2011. The brand's headquarters are in Sussex, a picturesque county on the south coast of the UK, just a short distance from Brighton. Ellis, a visionary watchmaker, has been instrumental in the revival of British watchmaking, which has gained significant momentum in recent years. Schofield's brand reflects his passion for traditional craftsmanship and is highly regarded for its precision, quality, and innovative designs. In the initial models, such as the Signalman GMT PR and its DLC variant, the brand established its identity with a combination of high-quality materials, reliable Swiss movements, and a touch of British flair. The Patinated Bronze Beater B3 demonstrated the brand's willingness to explore unique materials and finishes. In 2024, after maintaining the same core case design for almost 15 years, Schofield surprised the watch world with the Light. This new model represented a significant departure, featuring a smaller 40mm case size while staying true to the brand's commitment to functionality and meticulous construction. The Light offered a fresh interpretation of the classic field watch, incorporating subtle military influences and prioritising wearability. With the introduction of the Light, Schofield indicated its intention to expand its appeal while remaining steadfast to its fundamental principles. The brand continues to innovate, utilising high-grade materials and movements to produce enduring timepieces designed to endure the test of time.
