Points of Mention

This watch is sold as "Watch Only" and therefore comes with no original box or original papers. The watch comes paired with its original bracelet with a diving extension, but will only fit wrists up to 6 3/4inches. The watch is from Circa. March 1994 and is in worn, vintage condition as you can see from the photos. The watch comes with our 12-Months NON-Waterproof Warranty.

The Watch

Seikos history began in 1881 when Kintaro Hattori established the K. Hattori retail and repair store. In 1892 Seikosha was established making wall clocks. 1895 saw the production of their first pocket watch. 1913 saw the launch of their first wristwatch, the Laurel. In 1924 the first Seiko was manufactured. Daini Seikosha (now Seiko Instruments Inc.) established in 1937. Seiko listed on the Tokyo stock exchange in 1949. The Suwa factory becomes independent and forms Suwa Seikosha Co., Ltd. (now Seiko Epson Corporation in 1959).

Our Seiko Scuba Air diver has a gently curving case with tapering lugs. A lug to lug length of 42mm and a 10mm thickness will give you a comfortable fit on your wrist. On the right side a protected screw-down crown. A hexagonal bezel with a 60-minute scale has alternating blue sections, this shape allows good purchase when you wish to turn the bezel. A flat hardlex crystal sits above a stunning pearlescent dial that shimmers with iridescence very much like seashells. The colours remind us of the ocean capturing light in a magical way. Luminescent indexes have the appearance of shark teeth marking the hours. At 3 o’clock a date window. Broad hands with a lollipop hour hand and a broad baton hand with a needle tip for the minutes coated with luminescence. On the reverse a screw-down case back with a Seiko Tsunami in the center. Inside a Seiko Quartz Cal. 7N35. Fitted on its original Seiko bracelet with polished and brushed segments and a signed folding clasp and flip-lock.

Personal Note

Whilst not for everyone, it is certainly for KibbleWatches! I absolutely love this dial, so much fun for a small amount of money in the watch world! Plus, on a NATO or a leather strap, the watch would look great too!
