Points of Mention

This watch is sold as "Watch Only" meaning it comes with no original Omega box or original Omega paperwork. The watch comes paired on an aftermarket 18mm leather strap with quick-release lugs. The watch is from Circa. 1962 and is in original and fair condition, the case features signs of wear with a few marks here and there. The dial has developed a deep patina all over and "speckled" as you can see. The watch comes with our 12-Months NON-Waterproof warranty.

The Watch

The Seamaster is Omega’s longest-running line, first introduced in 1948. It is loosely based on designs made for the Royal Navy towards the end of World War 2. It was used in Submarines due to it being less affected by temperature and pressure. In 1955 diver Gordon Mclean dived to a record-breaking depth of 62.5 meters (205ft) wearing the Seamaster in Australia.

Our 34mm 1962 Omega Seamaster has a polished case with tapering lugs. On the right side, a signed crown. The polished beveled bezel supports a domed crystal. Its patinated white dial has applied baton markers for the hours. Elegant dauphine hands with a needle sweeping seconds hand. Text is minimal with Omega Automatic at 12 o’clock and Seamaster at 6 o’clock. On the screw-down case back we have the Omega Hippocampus first introduced in 1958 to signify its water resistance (Which it is not anymore!). Inside an Automatic Omega Cal. 522, 24 Jewels, 19,800 beats per hour. Fitted on an 18 mm leather strap.

Personal Note

The Omega Seamaster has become a core product I try to buy and sell as they are always great and popular, rightfully so! I have personally owned many and will likely own many again in the future. This example we have here is a beauty and will likely appeal to the person who loves their watch to have a big of age and wear it in style, which this definitely does!
