The Watch
Bulova Company was founded in 1875 by Joseph Bulova. Based in New York they moved to 580 Fifth Avenue in 1920. In 1923 Bulova Watch Inc was introduced. Here we have a very attractive 1927 Bulova with a 26.5mm 14k Rolled White Gold plated case. Lug to lug length of 33mm and a thickness of just 9mm ensure a comfortable fit on your wrist. Down each side, we have intricate engraving. A slightly domed crystal sits above a white dial. Radium-coated Arabic numeral indexes mark the hours. At 6 o’clock a small sub-second. Cathedral hands with Radium fill complete this understated dress watch. On the reverse, a hinged case back with an unusual exhibition crystal protecting the movement. Inside a Manually Wound Bulova Cal. 10AN. The watch comes fitted on a 20mm leather strap.
Personal Note
Another one that has sat in the depth of my safe in the personal collection not getting much wrist time, but forever being loved for its rarity and beauty. However a watch this lovely and important should be enjoyed and worn, not far off 100 years old it isn't as solid as a modern watch and will require a bit more core and attention when being worn, but to have something this incredible is a privilege.
