Points of Mention

This watch is sold with its original Seiko box and booklets, but no guarantee card is present. The watch comes paired on an aftermarket Strapcode Oyster Bracelet, this bracelet is fitted with a solid end link, screw links and a substantial milled clasp, not a cheap bracelet and improves the watch by a ton. The watch is in worn condition with a few signs of wear. The watch dates from 2017 and is in good running condition, sold with a 12-month warranty.

The Watch

The SKX007 heritage can be traced all the way back to the earliest Seiko divers such as the coveted 62MAS. First launched in 1996 it attained ISO 6425 Certification for diving with a 200m water resistance. The curvacious 43mm stainless steel case fits the wrist comfortably. The flowing sides are highly polished with the lug tops expertly brushed, creating a seamless transition between those surfaces. The bezel is unidirectional with a satisfying click.  The bezel has a  triangle with lume pip sitting at 12 o’clock, baton and numerals indicate the minutes, nicely painted in white in contrast to the black bezel. The large screw-down unsigned crown at 4 o’clock is protected by guards. Seiko’s flat Hardlex crystal protects a black matt dial, circular markers indicate the hours painted in Lumi Brite for a bright shine. The hands are both syringe and arrow again coated in the same LumiBrite. Its second hand has a lumed Lolipop counterbalance. A day-date sits at 3 o’clock black on white numerals make reading the date a breeze. On the back, we have the screw-down case back with the Seiko Tsunami wave embossed on it. Inside is the Seiko Automatic 7S26, 21 Jewels 21600 Beats per hour, a true and tested workhorse with its Magic lever system enabling the rotor to wind the watch in both directions. Fitted on a very nice aftermarket solid fitted Strapcode Oyster bracelet.

Personal Note

A true classic and one that is easily becoming, if not already, a cult classic! The OEM rubber or the Jubilee provided usually is the first thing to be swapped by collectors, that is what happened here and it went onto a very solid and substantial bracelet, it brings this watch into a new realm without question!
