Points of Mention

This watch is sold with its original Seiko box and original Seiko Paperwork. The watch comes paired on its original Seiko bracelet with spare links. This watch was sold in December 2019 to me when I purchased it new, I have owned this in my personal collection since and worn it occasionally. The watch is in worn condition with a few scratches here and there, but overall very good condition. The watch comes with its original manufacture warranty.

The Watch

Building on the success of the first “Save the Ocean” Turtle SRPC91, Seiko decided to create a unique looking Turtle SRPD21K1. It's 45mm stainless steel cushion case has polished and brushed surfaces that gently curves over your wrist for that comfortable fit. A knurled edged bezel has a dive insert, inspired by the shark (with the first 15-min of the countdown bezel picked out in a shark-grey colour) comes from the collaboration of Seiko with Fabien Cousteau’s (Grandson of Jaques) Ocean Learning Centre, dedicated to the preservation and exploration of our seas, specialized in the study of sharks. On the right side a screw-down crown. Protected by the dive bezel its flat Hardlex crystal is a specially hardened mineral glass manufactured by Seiko. The wave-patterned dial gives the impression of a rough sea with its peaks and troughs expertly crafted. If you look closer at 8 o’clock you will see the distinctive Dorsal fin of the shark. The applied indexes are broad and coated in LumiBrite. At 3 o’clock a day/date window. The arrow hands when in the 12 position resembles a rocket, are coated in LumiBrite and have a sweeping second hand with a caudal fin (tail fin) counterbalance. On the reverse, a screw-down case back with the Seiko tsunami wave embossed in the center. Inside an Automatic Seiko 4R36, 24 Jewels, 21,600 beats per hour. Fitted on its original 22 mm stainless steel bracelet with brushed and polished surfaces complete with a Seiko folding clasp.

Personal Note

One from the personal collection, unfortunately since attaining my personal Cartier Tank I hardly wear anything else, so why let this sit in the safe and not get enjoyed when it is such a great timepiece that someone else can enjoy it!
