Points of Mention

This watch is sold with its original CWC box and CWC paperwork. The watch comes paired on its original black NATO strap with matching black CWC buckle. The watch is from November 2017 and has been worn probably a handful of times within that time, it has no signs of wear as you can see and is in fantastic condition. The watch has some months of its original manufacture warranty left, it is running fantastic and will come with our 12-month NON-Waterproof warranty.

The Watch

CWC (Cabot Watch Company) was founded by Mr. Ray Mellor in 1972. He was formerly Contracts director of Hamilton Watch. He quickly secured contracts to supply the British MOD and has supplied them with many thousands of watches. In1996 on Ray’s retirement he sold the company to Silvermans Ltd who sold CWC watches to the public, since that time and due to the increased costs of producing watches in Switzerland, the British MOD requirements of buying cheap has meant they have ceased using Silvermans. Inspired by the quartz version made for the Royal Marines SBS, formed at the height of WW2 The Special Boat Service is the maritime elite counter-terrorism unit of the Royal Navy. Its 42mm stainless steel case with black PVD coating, making it a perfect stealth watch. Curved lugs with fixed bars and crown guards protect the screw-down crown. 120 click uni-directional dive bezel. Flat Sapphire crystal with AR coating broad baton markings for the hours alongside 3,6 and 9 numerals all coated in Superluminova. Plongeur Hands with Superluminova creates a clean uncluttered dial. The circled L at 12 o’clock signifies Luminova a non-radioactive substance and replaced Tritium in the 2000s. On the back, we have a screw-down case-back with military engraving. Inside  Automatic ETA 2824-2 beating at 28,800 beats per hour. Fitted a quality 20mm CWC Nato strap with signed buckle.

Personal Note

I've always been attracted to these modern CWC watches, they capture perfectly their history and essence of the military watches they were making all those years ago. This one is fantastic, all black and super stealthy, size-wise it is great on the wrist too!
